The Northwest Neighborhood Alliance is a grassroots group of neighbors that believes that Chicago should be livable and accessible for all. To do that, we need to work together to demand the changes we want to see in our neighborhoods. We advocate for safe streets, housing, and fast, frequent public transit.
Our system of local government is outdated and unresponsive - we need to speak up for the best interests of our communities. We started this group because we were frustrated by a system that prioritizes the voices of older, landowning residents over everyone else. Because we felt that neighborhood associations and ward offices do not represent us, we started a group to call our own.
Our borders are based on the city's Community Areas - borders which do not change and which represent the people of our city. We represent neighborhoods within the Logan Square, West Town, and Humboldt Park community areas.
Our neighborhoods should put safety first - on our streets, in our communities, and on transit.
From fast, frequent transit to protected bike lanes, our neighborhoods should make it easy to get around.
From building new housing to facilitating small businesses, our communities should be a place for our residents to thrive.
